Direct Energy Launches Residential Offer at Duquesne Light

Direct Energy Services has expanded its residential
electric marketing to the Duquesne Light area.
Initially, Direct is making a variable offer to residential Rate RS customers which is guaranteed to be at least 5% lower than the Price to Compare for the next 12 months.
The product does not include an early termination fee.
Energy Plus Holdings LLC is the only other supplier with an active offer at Duquesne Light. Dominion Retail currently serves residential load at Duquesne Light, and has routinely made residential offers available, though it does not have a widely available offer to residential customers at the moment (e.g. on its own website or through PA PowerSwitch, though it likely offers a price to inbounding customers).
Direct will solicit customers through door-
While Direct's marketing plans are still in development, it did support the offer with radio spots during last weekend's Pittsburgh Steelers broadcast.
Direct is active in the mass market at Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, whose territory overlaps with Duquesne Light in some areas. Direct also has an HVAC service presence in the service area through One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning.
Direct would not elaborate on any plans for mass market offerings in other service
areas of the state whose rate caps are expiring on December 31, 2010.
