Dash Energy Seeks Pa. Broker License
Dash Energy, LLC applied for a Pennsylvania electric broker/marketer license to serve all sizes of non-residential customers in all service areas.  The start-up is led by Kelsay Yerian, who most recently was in sales and marketing at Merck & Co., Inc.  Al Padron, formerly president of broker I3 Energy Solutions and a director at Choice Energy Services Retail, will serve as Dash's Director of Energy Consulting.  Dash said that it will use Entrance Software's CORE (Collaborative Operations for Retail Energy) software tool for its transactions.


Total Energy Resources Seeks Pa. Broker License
Total Energy Resources, LLC applied for a Pennsylvania electric broker/marketer license to serve commercial customers over 25 kW and industrial customers in all service areas.  Total Energy Resources, which is involved in various Marcellus shale activities, has a pending Pennsylvania gas broker application (Matters, 7/5/10) and indicated that it would seek an Ohio electric broker license.


Power Brokers Seeks Ohio Broker License
Power Brokers, LLC applied for an Ohio electric broker/aggregator license to serve commercial, mercantile and industrial customers in all service areas.


Integrity Energy Receives Maine Broker License
The Maine PUC granted Integrity Energy, LTD an electric aggregator/broker license to serve medium and large non-residential customers at Central Maine Power, Bangor Hydro-Electric, and Maine Public Service (Only in Matters, 9/29/10)


ERCOT Eliminates 37 Positions
ERCOT said yesterday that as part of organizational changes related to the transition to the new nodal market, it is eliminating 37 positions, representing approximately 5.5 percent of the current staff of 670. The reduction will not impact nodal market implementation. 


AEP Ohio to Sign Long-Term Contract for Nearly 50 MW of Solar
AEP Ohio said yesterday that it will negotiate a long-term power purchase agreement for the energy from a 49.9 MW solar project to be built by Turning Point Solar LLC, a joint venture of Agile Energy Inc. and New Harvest Power.   If executed as expected, AEP Ohio would purchase through a 20-year agreement all of the output, including renewable energy credits, from the facility to be located in southeastern Ohio.  Construction and commercial operation of the solar generating facility will be phased in over three years.  Approximately 20 MW is expected to be in commercial operation by late 2012.  An additional 15 MW will be added by the end of 2013 and the remaining 14.9 MW will be online by the end of 2014.  Terms of the power purchase agreement were not disclosed.


SJF Ventures Invests in Community Energy to Support Solar Projects
SJF Ventures, joined by NGP Energy Technology Partners, said that it completed a Series A Preferred Stock investment in Community Energy, Inc. to fund Community Energy's plan to expand its pipeline of utility scale solar generation projects under development in the Northeast, Mid-West, and West.  SJF Ventures led the Series A investment totaling $4 million, with an option to invest another $2 million.


Shipley Energy Seeks to Transfer License to New Corporate Entity
Shipley Energy Company has sought approval from the Pennsylvania PUC to authorize the transfer of its license as a natural gas supplier to a newly formed entity, Shipley Choice LLC, for purposes of a more efficient corporate organization within the Shipley family of companies.  Shipley Choice will continue to use the fictitious name of Shipley Energy.  Shipley Energy currently serves customers in the service territories of Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, UGI Utilities, Inc. - Gas Division, UGI Central Penn, and PECO.
