Constellation Enrolls Over 10,000 Residential Customers in New Jersey

Email This Story
October 19, 2010

Constellation NewEnergy has enrolled more than 10,000 New Jersey residential electric customers at Public Service Electric & Gas and Jersey Central Power & Light since launching service in the territories in September (Matters, 8/27/10).

Constellation said that it has extended its residential offers in New Jersey through Nov. 15, 2010, with the same pricing.  Constellation is still limiting New Jersey residential service to PSE&G and JCP&L.

A statewide poll commissioned by Constellation shows that nearly two-thirds of New Jersey residents would consider switching to a competitive electricity provider to save 10% or more on the electricity generation portion of their utility bill.

The Fairleigh Dickinson/Public Mind telephone poll of 675 New Jersey adults found that 35% of those polled were very likely to switch for savings of 10%, while another 28% were somewhat likely to do so.

The poll of New Jersey residents who participate in household financial decisions was conducted Oct. 4 through Oct. 9, 2010.
