The PUCT granted RetailOPCO of Texas, Inc. a REP certificate.  As only noted in Matters, RetailOPCO is a start-up led by several veterans of the Australian power market (see 8/26).  Thomas Alexander Gilpin serves as CEO and Director of RetailOPCO of Texas, who was most recently General Manager for Commercial Operations at Australian Power & Gas, a residential-focused supplier with some 150,000 accounts, and Australia's fastest-growing publicly listed company.  Several other principals or investors in Australian Power & Gas are directors at RetailOPCO of Texas.  Kevin Howell, most recently Regional President, Texas, at NRG Energy, is also a director of RetailOPCO of Texas.

Illinois Senate Delays Vote on Tenaska Sourcing Agreement Bill
The Illinois Senate has delayed a vote on SB2485, the Tenaska Taylorville Energy Center sourcing agreement bill, until January, after the Senate Executive Committee postponed a hearing on the bill because the bill did not have enough support to receive a favorable recommendation to the floor.  The new legislative session begins January 12; if the bill is not passed before then, it would need to undergo the entire legislative process again.
