December 3, 2010

ConEdison Solutions entered the PECO residential market by offering a fixed-rate product with no termination fee, and an affinity program which includes donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

ConEdison Solutions' offering is a 12-month fixed rate of 8.89¢/kWh for online enrollments, and 9.09¢/kWh for telephonic enrollments.

The web rate is the lowest 12-month fixed rate without a cancellation fee offered on PA Power Switch.  Dominion Retail offers a rate currently priced at 8.766¢/kWh, but that rate is only guaranteed as a 10% discount off the Rate R Price to Compare through June 2011, at which point customers will receive a fixed rate of 8.99¢ for the rest of 2011.

ConEdison Solutions will donate $1 for every enrollment at PECO before January 31, 2011 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  ConEdison Solutions offered a similar affinity program with the Ronald McDonald House when it entered the PPL residential market which resulted in about 21,000 enrollments in under two months.

ConEdison Solutions will utilize web-based advertising to support its PECO residential offer with some local radio and other media buys, said Michael Perna, Vice President of Marketing & Business Development for ConEdison Solutions.

ConEdison Solutions is now serving more than 245,000 residential and small commercial accounts in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.  That represents growth from 220,000 in May 2010, and 200,000 a year ago.  Perna said that the growth represents success in the PPL market, Connecticut residential market, and New Jersey small and mid-sized business market.
