GearyEnergy Receives Ohio Electric License
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted GearyEnergy, LLC an electric supplier license to serve commercial, mercantile, and industrial customers in all service areas (11/8).


Ontario Energy Board Posts Disclosure Statements, Price Comparison Templates
The Ontario Energy Board has posted Board-approved electricity Disclosure Statements which are to be used for new contracts and contract renewals with low-volume consumers that are effective on and after January 1, 2011.  The statements include language regarding the new Ontario Clean Energy Benefit.  Similar language will also be added to verification and renewal call scripts.  The Board earlier this week also posted natural gas Disclosure Statements and the pre-populated Price Comparison templates for both electricity and natural gas which are to be used for new contracts and contract renewals with low-volume consumers that are effective on and after January 1, 2011.  


N.Y. PSC Grants Extension for Central Hudson Remote Account Number Access Plan
The New York PSC granted Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. until December 30, 2010 for implementation of its plan to provide customers with remote access to their account numbers.


Radtke Promoted at Integrys Energy Group
Integrys Energy Group has announced the promotion of Mark Radtke to Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for the holding company.  Radtke had been serving as CEO of Integrys Energy Services, and will remain Chairman of the Integrys Energy Services Board of Directors.  Integrys said that no decision has been made as to whether to formally fill the CEO title at Integrys Energy Services, but Daniel Verbanac, current Integrys Energy Services President and COO, will run the day to day operations.


Exelon to Retire Oyster Creek in 2019
Exelon said that it will retire its 645 net MW Oyster Creek nuclear generating station in New Jersey in 2019, citing low market prices and demand, and the plant's need for continuing large capital expenditures, and potential additional environmental compliance costs based on evolving water cooling regulatory requirements at both the federal and state government levels.  Specifically, Exelon has reached an agreement with state environmental regulators under which the plant will retire in 2019 and in exchange Exelon will not need to construct a cooling tower during the remaining life of the plant.


Main Line Chamber of Commerce Selects Constellation NewEnergy As Preferred Supplier
The 1,200-member Main Line Chamber of Commerce in suburban Philadelphia has selected Constellation NewEnergy as the preferred energy provider for its members.


Jeff Grejda Joins APPI Energy
APPI Energy has added Jeff Grejda to its staff as a Senior Energy Advisor.  Grejda will manage the new APPI Energy office in Ellicott City, Md. and will assist clients in all deregulated markets.  Grejda, a 20-year industry veteran, was most recently a senior demand response specialist at Baltimore Gas & Electric, and previously held positions at Constellation Energy, Pepco Energy Services, and Shell Energy Trading.


PUCT Staff File Critical Care Form Proposal for Adoption
PUCT Staff have filed a proposal for adoption regarding the new critical care customer form in Project 38676.


Pizarro Named President of Edison Mission Group
Edison International has named Pedro Pizarro as president and chief executive of Edison Mission Group.  Pizarro was most recently executive vice president for power operations at Southern California Edison.  Ronald Litzinger, who has led Edison Mission Group since 2008, will become president of SCE.
