N.H. PUC Approves Large Commercial Rates at Granite State Electric, Unitil

The New Hampshire PUC has approved new default service rates for large customers at Granite State Electric (National Grid) and Unitil Energy Systems for the three-month period beginning February 2011.

At Granite State Electric, default service rates for large and medium commercial and industrial customers will be as follows ($/kWh)

DTE Energy Trading, Inc. will supply default service for Granite State Electric's large and medium commercial and industrial customer class.


At Unitil, default service rates for large commercial and industrial (G1) customers will be as follows ($/kWh):

RPS adder          $0.00255       $0.00255       $0.00255
Total rate          $0.06961       $0.06837       $0.06967


DTE Energy Trading, Inc. will supply Unitil's default service load in the G1 class.

Unitil also provided an update on its Renewable Source Option Program (RSO) for default service customers approved by the Commission on May 7 (5/12).  Some 21 residential customers are participating in the RSO program (four at the 25 percent level, five at the 50 percent level, and 12 at the 100 percent level).  Unitil has promoted participation in its RSO program through Interactive Voice Response messaging, through articles published in the Union Leader, and through a mailing to its 65,000 customers in the October 2010 bills.
