Maine PUC Sets Supply Rates Through 2014 at Maine Public Service

The Maine PUC approved new supply rates for electric customers at Maine Public Service, with the rates fixed for three years, rather than 12 months, for small and medium customers.  

Under the MPS procurement process, the PUC solicited bids for term lengths of one, two, and three years, and established the length of the procurement plan based on the pricing of various proposals.

Large commercial customers with still receive a fixed rate for 12 months; however, the 12-month rates have been set through February 28, 2014.

MPS Standard Offer pricing is as follows:

March 1, 2011 - February 28, 2014
Residential & Small Commercial            7.3¢/kWh
Medium Commercial                              7.3¢/kWh

Large Commercial Class
3/01/11-2/28/12                                        9.035¢/kWh
3/01/12-2/28/13                                      10.552¢/kWh
3/01/13-2/28/14                                      10.643¢/kWh
