Flash: TXU Loses 29,000 Residential Customers Versus Sept. 30, 2010

TXU Energy's residential customer count stood at 1.771 million as of December 31, 2010, representing a net loss of 29,000 residential customers versus September 30, 2010, parent Energy Future Holdings reported in a 10-K filed this morning.

TXU's residential customer count as of September 30, 2010 was 1.800 million.  Residential customer count as of December 31, 2009 was 1.862 million.

The net loss of 29,000 residential customers was essentially flat versus the net loss of 30,000 residential customers recorded from June 30, 2010 to September 30, 2010.  

TXU's small business (< 1 MW) customer count stood at 217,000 as of December 31, 2010, versus 228,000 as of September 30, 2010 and 262,000 a year ago.  The net attrition of 11,000 small business customers compares to net attrition of 13,000 customers from June 30, 2010 to September 30, 2010.

TXU's large business customer count was 20,000 as of December 31, 2010, versus 22,000 as of September 30, 2010 and 23,000 a year ago.

Total customer count is 2.008 million, versus 2.050 million as of September 30, 2010 and 2.147 million a year ago.
