CL&P Updates POR Discount Rate

Connecticut Light & Power on Friday filed an updated Purchase of Receivables discount rate of 0.90%. CL&P will use the new factor effective with the purchase of supplier receivables for April 2011. The updated factor reflects the average uncollectibles factor from the past two years, 1.16% in 2009 and 0.62% in 2010.


Constellation Formally Announces ComEd Residential Entry

Constellation Energy formally announced its entry into the Commonwealth Edison residential electric market this morning. Constellation Energy's ComEd entry and specific offers were first reported by Matters a week ago (see 2/22)


Pepco Energy Services Reports Lower Earnings on Wind Down

Pepco Energy Services reported lower gross margin from its retail supply business of $28 million in the fourth quarter, down from $35 million a year ago, due to the continued rolloff of retail supply contracts as Pepco Holdings exits the business, and due to the sale of excess natural gas at lower prices. Operating income from Pepco Energy Services' retail energy supply business was lower at $6 million, versus $14 million a year ago. Retail electric sales in the quarter were 2,303 GWh, versus 3,780 GWh a year ago.
