March 10, 2011

North American Power has named two well known industry leaders to executive positions, formally hiring Bill Kinneary as President, and Taff Tschamler as Vice President of Business Development and Regulatory Affairs.

Kinneary had previously worked as a consultant for North American Power, and his hiring as President was first reported by Matters when disclosed by North American Power as part of several remedial measures to improve its compliance (see 1/27).

Kinneary has nearly 40 years of energy industry experience, with notable positions including top executive offices at KeySpan Energy Services, KeySpan Energy Supply, and Total Gas & Electric. Kinneary has also served as Vice President of Marketing at Infinite Energy, and most recently ran a Georgia-based retail energy consulting business. Kinneary has been an active member of the National Energy Marketers Association's Executive Committee since 1999 including two terms as Chairman, and has been serving as Chairman Emeritus since 2005.

A 16-year industry veteran, Tschamler joins North American Power from KEMA, where he served as Director of North American Retail Energy. At KEMA, Tschamler ran the retail energy advisory service, retail benchmarking service, and was lead author of First to Market, an analysis of the emerging smart energy business. Tschamler received his Masters in Public Policy from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

In addition to business development and leading North American Power's expansion into new markets, Tschamler said he expects his new role at North American Power will also include support of pricing/supply management, marketing, and compliance.

With Tschamler's departure, Kevin Sullivan, Regional Director of KEMA's Management and Operations Consulting business line, will continue to lead the overall retail practice. In a letter to clients issued today, Sullivan said that Young Kim will continue to lead the retail consulting practice and Gargi Chakrabarty will continue to lead the retail energy advisory service. Additionally, Amanda Grant has been promoted to a full-time retail business analyst. KEMA senior management will provide support to the practices.
