SCANA Energy Marketing Seeks Authority to Offer Prepaid Service at AGL

Email This Story
March 18, 2011

SCANA Energy Marketing, Inc. has asked the Georgia PSC for several waivers in order to allow SCANA Energy to offer customers a prepaid natural gas product.

Through its Pay-and-Go Plan, SCANA Energy said that it will offer certain consumers who do not meet its prevailing credit requirements for fixed or variable rate plan products, or who choose not to have a credit check performed, the opportunity to participate in SCANA Energy's prepaid billing plan.

SCANA Energy's proposed prepaid billing methodology, dates and disconnection timeline, and terms of service were filed confidentially as a trade secret.

SCANA Energy specifically sought waivers, in whole or in part, from Commission Rules 515-3-3-.01(e), 515-7-6-.02(a)(3)&(4), 515-3-3-.02(B), and 515-3-3-.04(a) and (b) to facilitate the offering of the prepaid plan.
