DPUC Intends to Implement Mid-Cycle Enrollments by End of June

March 21, 2011

The Connecticut DPUC intends to establish a process to execute mid-cycle electric supplier changes on or before June 15, 2011, the Department said in a notice of workshop.

Mid-cycle supplier and pricing changes were omitted from a recent final decision on electric marketing rules (3/17), and were left to a working group.

The DPUC scheduled the first such working group session for April 1. The initial meeting will focus on mid-cycle price changes, mid-cycle customer enrollments, and issues related to the rate board.

"The Department considers the customers' ability to make mid-cycle changes to their electric generation services as a critical element of a robust and efficient electric market," the DPUC said.

"Therefore, the Department intends to establish a process, or mechanism, to affect such mid-cycle changes on or before June 15, 2011, at which time the EDCs will be required to implement such process or mechanism."
