Reliant Launches Affinity Program for Texas Schools

Reliant Energy has launched an affinity program with nearly 150 Texas schools under which it will make donations for both customer enrollments and customer retention.

Under the Reliant "Power Your School" program, customers can direct contributions to any participating public or private elementary, middle or high school or university. Currently, 146 schools in the Arlington and Fort Worth independent school districts and the Awty International School in Houston are already enrolled to participate in the program. Schools must sign an agreement with Reliant to participate.

For new Reliant customers enrolling through Reliant's Power Your School affinity website, Reliant will make a $25 donation to the customer's selected school.

For both new and existing customers making an election on the affinity website, Reliant will make a recurring $3 monthly donation on the customer's behalf. Monthly donations will continue for three years provided that the consumer remains a Reliant customer.
