Apollo Power & Light Acquires Nations Power Customers
Apollo Power & Light (Weir Investments Fund, LLC) has acquired the customers of Texas retailer Nations Power. Nations Power's book had been on the block for some time as its principals desired to focus more on prepaid software and billing systems as opposed to serving retail load. Like Nations Power's, Apollo Power & Light focuses on the prepaid market, though it does offer postpay service as well.
United Illuminating Updates POR Discount Rate
United Illuminating has updated its Purchase of Receivables discount rate to a rate of 0.84%. The discount, or Non-Hardship Uncollectible Factor, reflects the average from 2009 (0.66%) and 2010 (1.02%)
Pa. PUC Updates Generation Rates at Citizens, Wellsboro
The Pennsylvania PUC approved an updated Generation Supply Service Rate for Citizens' Electric Company of Lewisburg of $0.086538 per kWh, for the quarter beginning April 1. The PUC also approved an updated Generation Supply Service Rate for Wellsboro Electric Company of $0.079396 per kWh for the quarter beginning April 1. Both approved rates reflect Staff corrections to the calculation of interest on amounts over/under collected by the companies under prior rates.
DPUC Issues Report on Supplier Complaints
The Connecticut DPUC has issued its annual report on competitive supplier and utility complaints. Electric supplier and aggregator complaints increased from 90 in 2009 to 222 in 2010, while the number of customers who switched to an electric supplier grew from 280,000 in December 2009 to 630,000 in December 2010. The DPUC's complaint report, which includes a score for each supplier/aggregator, their total number of complaints, and supplier customer counts as of December 2010, is available here (page 5).
