Champion Energy Services has begun offering a Time of Use product in ERCOT, COO Michael Sullivan reported during a panel at the Gulf Coast Power Association spring conference.

Sullivan also reported that Champion is piloting direct load control devices.

The Time of Use product, or "Smart Saver," is available at Oncor and CenterPoint to customers with advanced meters. The product has a term of 12 months, with the time-based energy charges fixed for that period. An early termination fee of $150 applies.

The Energy Charge by service area is as follows:

Oncor:
12:00pm - 7:59pm: 9.9 cents/kWh
8:00pm - 11:59am: 8.2 cents/kWh

CenterPoint
12:00pm - 7:59pm: 11.0 cents/kWh
8:00pm - 11:59am: 8.9 cents/kWh

In addition to the time-based energy charge, customers are subject to an Advanced Meter Surcharge, Hurricane Recovery Charge (CenterPoint only), Energy Efficiency Recovery Factor, PUC Assessment, and $4.95 customer charge (if usage below 500 kWh per month).

The product is not available on Power to Choose, but is available through Champion's website.
