First Choice Power Mission Store Opening Set for May 20

First Choice Power will open its previously reported storefront customer service center and office in Mission, Texas on May 20 (3/17). First Choice Power also said that it has signed a 24-month, 100% wind contract with the International Museum of Art & Science in nearby McAllen.


PUCT Accepts Settlement Requiring Proton Energy to Pay $10,000

The PUCT accepted a settlement under which Proton Energy will pay a $10,000 fine but maintain its REP certificate for non-compliance with the new provisions of the REP certification rules by the compliance deadline. Proton has since come into compliance (4/15). Commissioner Kenneth Anderson said that not meeting the certification standards in question (including the financial and letter of credit requirements) is a "serious violation" and stressed that acceptance of the settlement should not indicate otherwise.
