Residential Migration Lower at Peoples Natural Gas

Three Pennsylvania natural gas distribution companies saw lower levels of residential migration as of April 1, 2011 versus January 1, 2011, according to the latest statistics from the Office of Consumer Advocate

Peoples Natural Gas saw a decline of 1,663 residential accounts on competitive supply over the first quarter of 2011. Equitable Gas and UGI Penn also saw lower residential migration

National Fuel Gas Distribution saw a net gain of 4,629 new residential shoppers, while Columbia saw a net increase of 3,427 residential customers on competitive supply. Other notable gains in residential migration were seen at PECO (1,751 gain) and UGI Utilities - Gas Division (1,612).

Leading utilities for residential migration continue to be Peoples Natural Gas (26% of accounts), Columbia Gas (19%) and National Fuel Gas Distribution (8.6%).
