Several owners of LKN Communications, Inc. d/b/a ACN, Inc. have started a new retail energy supplier, Xoom Energy, LLC.

Xoom Energy Global, which was created to serve as a holding company for Xoom, is a wholly owned direct subsidiary of BlueGreen Holding Co., LLC. BlueGreen Holding Co. is owned by seven individuals with varying levels of member interests. These individuals also own LKN Communications (ACN).

ACN currently acts as an agent for retail supplier Planet Energy in several Northeast markets.

One of Xoom's subsidiaries, Xoom Energy Texas, LLC, applied for a Texas REP certificate yesterday.

Tom Ulry will serve as CEO of Xoom Energy. Ulry has more than 20 year of experience in the retail energy industry, including stints as Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing at Commerce Energy, and COO at ACN Energy. Ulry has also held senior or executive positions at Nicor Energy, Energy.com (Columbia Energy Services), Aquila, Unicorp Energy, and Yankee Gas/Access Energy. Ulry was most recently executive vice president of business development for ACN Inc., working on its re-entry into energy marketing.

Xoom Energy will rely on Andrew Coppola, Vice President of Supply, to meet the risk management requirements for Texas certification. Coppola is a 30-year industry veteran, and was most recently General Manager, Commercial & Industrial, and Customer Aggregators, for Shell Energy N.A. Previously, Coppola held senior supply and trading positions at Commerce Energy/ACN Energy, DTE Energy Trading, and CMS Marketing, Services, and Trading.

Jacqulyn Whitman will serve as Director of Marketing for Xoom Energy. Whitman was most recently Senior Channel Marketing Manager at ACN, and was previously a project manager at SunCom Wireless.

Xoom Energy has contracted with PPLSolutions, LLC, for billing and customer service.

Job postings for Xoom Energy indicate that it will seek licenses in additional states, as it has been seeking experience in several FERC-jurisdictional organized markets (PJM, CAISO, MISO, and NYISO). It has also sought FERC market-based rate authority in all these areas plus ISO New England.

The job postings also indicate Xoom Energy will offer natural gas.
