PUCT Schedules Workshop on ERCOT Reserve Adequacy

May 23, 2011
Email This Story

The Public Utility Commission of Texas scheduled a workshop for June 22 regarding the potential effect of proposed federal environmental regulations on reserve adequacy in ERCOT (see 5/12).

The workshop is part of Project Number 37897, and one in a series of workshops on reserve adequacy and shortage pricing.

The Commission sought comments on ERCOT's recent report regarding potential impacts from federal regulations ahead of the workshop, including what reserve margin levels can be reasonably expected within the ERCOT system with the proposed changes to federal environmental regulations.

The Commission had directed that the workshop be held in discussing reserve adequacy issues earlier this month (see 5/13).
