Owner of CTEnergySavings.com Seeks Pennsylvania Broker License

Make The Switch USA, LLC has applied for a Pennsylvania electric broker/marketer license to serve all customer classes in all service areas. Make The Switch USA operates the Connecticut energy brokering website CTEnergySavings.com. Make The Switch USA will broker in Pennsylvania under the website www.maketheswitchusa.com, which will also eventually be expanded to additional markets as well. The Connecticut site currently offers mass market service from six suppliers, five of which also operate in Pennsylvania (ConEdison Solutions, MXenergy, Spark Energy, North American Power, and Verde Energy).


FirstEnergy Solutions Seeks to Serve Residential Customers in Maryland

FirstEnergy Solutions filed at the Maryland PSC to expand its existing electric supplier license to include service to residential customers at the four investor-owned utilities. FirstEnergy Solutions had previously committed to serving residential customers in Maryland as part of its parent's application to merge with Allegheny Energy.


dPi Energy Seeks to Add Trade Name Empergy Texas to Certificate

dPi Energy, LLC has filed for an amendment to its Texas REP certificate to add the trade name Empergy Texas. Separately, a proposed order in Docket 37917 would approve without modification a settlement under which dPi Energy would be sold to resolve a Staff petition to revoke dPi Energy's certificate (see 5/10 for details).


CenterPoint Energy Services Receives Michigan Gas License

CenterPoint Energy Services, Inc. has received a Michigan alternative natural gas supplier license to serve customers through the utility choice programs. The application was first reported in Matters (1/21). CenterPoint Energy Services is currently active in serving transportation-level customers in Michigan. At the time of its application, CenterPoint Energy Services was active in the NIPSCO and Pennsylvania (at UGI) choice programs in addition to serving transportation-level customers in about 20 states.


Consumer Energy Solutions Seeks D.C. Broker License

Consumer Energy Solutions, Inc. applied for a District of Columbia electric broker license to serve all customer classes.


HealthTrust Purchasing Group Receives D.C. Broker Licenses

The District of Columbia PSC granted HealthTrust Purchasing Group, L.P. both electric and natural gas aggregator/broker licenses to serve commercial and industrial customers.
