Allegheny Power Confirms New Maryland POR Discount Rates

Allegheny Power has filed in Maryland a compliance filing to implement new Purchase of Receivables discount rates.

The new rates, approved in late April, were first reported by Matters (4/28).

However, at that time, the PSC combined Staff and company recommendations for various POR discount components, and did not provide the final totals at the administrative meeting. Allegheny's filing confirms that the totals reported in late April based on the Commission's administrative meeting discussions were correct.

The new POR discounts rates, effective June 1, 2011, are:

Residential: 0.1817%

Type I: 0.7008%

Type II: 0.1795%

Hourly: 0.0339%
