Md. PSC Assigns Docket for Customer Choice Working Group

The Maryland PSC has initiated administrative docket PC25 for the purpose of convening a Consumer Education on Customer Choice Workgroup, as required by recent legislation.

The working group will advise the PSC on improvements to the commission's website information and presentation concerning customer choice, and on additional information and methods of consumer education.

The PSC directed each of the following to name a representative that the agency/organization requests the Commission appoint to the work group:

- Attorney General;

- Secretary of Disabilities;

- People's Counsel;

- Director of Maryland Energy Administration;

- Each Maryland electric company; and

- Retail Energy Supply Association

The PSC is also accepting nominations to be a representative for one of the following groups/skill sets. Groups:

- At least one representative of electricity suppliers serving residential customers in the State

- Representatives of residential and small commercial retail electric customers

Skill Sets

- A Web site design specialist

- An educational production and publication consultant

Obi Linton, Director of the PSC's Office of External Relations, will facilitate and conduct all working group meetings. A working group report shall be filed by December 31, 2011.
