The New Hampshire PUC approved updated default service electric rates for customers at Unitil Energy Systems, Inc..

The updated rates, applicable from August 1, 2011 through October 31, 2011, are for large commercial and industrial (G1) customers.

Approved large commercial and industrial rates, in $/kWh, are:

August 2011
Base Default Service Rate: $0.07149
RPS Adder: $0.00275
Total Default Service Rate: $0.07424

September 2011
Base Default Service Rate: $0.06665
RPS Adder: $0.00275
Total Default Service Rate: $0.06940

October 2011
Base Default Service Rate: $0.06869
RPS Adder: $0.00275
Total Default Service Rate: $0.07144

Hess Corporation, Inc. won 100% of Unitil's large commercial and industrial default service load for the quarter beginning August 1.
