Constellation Energy has refreshed its pricing for residential electric products at Commonwealth Edison, and also released results of a poll showing nearly half of customers are unaware of choice.

Constellation is offering ComEd residential customers the following rates (in cents per kWh):
12 Months Fixed 10% Wind @ 6.99
24 Months Fixed 10% Wind @ 6.69
12 Months Fixed 50% Wind @ 7.19
24 Months Fixed 50% Wind @ 6.89
12 Months Fixed 100% Wind @ 7.49
24 Months Fixed 100% Wind @ 7.19

All products include an early termination fee of $150 which is waived if the contract is cancelled within the first 90 days.

In connection with its direct mail offers, Constellation is offering customers a dining rewards card issued by The Rewards Company.

Kelton Research recently conducted a statewide poll of Illinois residents for Constellation which found that only 54% of residents are aware that they have a choice of which electricity provider to use.

Additionally, the survey found that the majority of customers (57%) require savings in excess of 20% (on a total bill basis) to switch to a competitive supplier.

Some 14% of customers are willing to switch for savings of under 20% on their bill, while another 16% said they would not have to save money in order to switch. Some 10% of respondents said they would not switch suppliers under any savings amount.

When asked if they were likely to switch suppliers, 73% of respondents said they were likely to do so (30% extremely likely, 43% somewhat likely).

Asked what would influence their decision to switch, respondents said:

Cost Savings: 83%

Reliability: 67%

Ease of Transition: 55%

Company Reputation: 41%
