Online Broker Choose Energy Now Listing Popularity of Each Offer Via Enrollment Stat

Online shopping platform Choose Energy is now ranking the popularity of each of the residential Texas electric offers listed on the site.

Specifically, for residential offers, Choose Energy's chart of various products now includes a column which lists the number of times a customer has enrolled onto the product via ChooseEnergy.com in the last 30 days.

Jerry Dyess, President & CEO of Choose Energy, said that the enrollment data adds relevance to the chart, and also provides assurance to customers when shopping, showing customers that other customers have reached the same conclusions about the benefits of the product.

The data also provides the industry with an insight into the popularity of specific providers and offers.

Additionally, Choose Energy is now accepting customer reviews of providers from verified buyers who have used the site in the past. The reviews are used to develop a star rating for providers, which also appears on the comparison chart.

Both new features are intended to enhance the social media aspect of the site, and provide value-added benefits to customers. As before, the comparison charts also list contract type, term, renewable content, cancellation fees, and various rewards or value-added services.

Choose Energy is also testing service in other markets including Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut, Maryland, and Massachusetts.

At this time, Choose Energy is linking to retail suppliers' own sites for enrollments onto residential products offered in these markets (in Texas, enrollment occurs through the Choose Energy site itself). Dyess reported that Choose Energy is evaluating which of the new states is most active, and will then develop additional technology platforms for those states, similar to the Texas site.
