American Power Partners LLC, led by Robert J. Kreppel, has applied for a Pennsylvania electric generation supplier license to serve all customer classes in the seven major utility service areas.

American Power Partners, which received its Maryland supplier license this spring (3/2), said that marketing at Baltimore Gas & Electric and Pepco is "just about to commence."

The Maryland PSC today granted American Power Partners authority to serve customers at Pepco, Delmarva, and Potomac Edison in addition to BGE.

American Power Partners currently offers through its website residential service at BGE priced at a, "5% discount from the BGE posted Standard Offer Service inclusive of any Rider 8 charges," through May 31, 2012.

Current residential pricing is 9.56 cents per kWh at BGE. There is no early termination fee.

American Power Partners also offers commercial electric service at BGE. Current small commercial (Schedule G-Type I) pricing is 9.198 cents per kWh.

Kreppel previously founded and led U.S. Energy Partners until its sale to Paetec in 2010.
