Wolverine Alternative Investments Receives Texas REP Certificate

The PUCT granted Wolverine Alternative Investments, LLC a REP certificate. The application was first reported in Matters (5/19). Wolverine Alternative Investments was a joint owner of MC Squared Energy Services until MC Squared's recent sale to DPL Inc. Wolverine Alternative Investments is also a provider of various wholesale electricity and risk management services in PJM, NEPOOL, and the Midwest ISO.

Interstate Gas Supply Receives Maryland Electric License

The Maryland PSC granted Interstate Gas Supply an electric generation supplier license to serve all customer classes in all service areas. During a discussion at the administrative meeting, Interstate Gas Supply said that its licensing agreement to use the Columbia Retail Energy trade name is limited to Columbia's various distribution territories, and thus will not use the name for electric service. As only reported by Matters (6/23), IGS Energy recently launched a residential gas offer at Baltimore Gas & Electric, and residential electric offers at Commonwealth Edison, its first new electricity territory since acquiring Accent Energy. Interstate Gas Supply informed the Maryland PSC that it has about 128,000 customers in Michigan, and 54,000 customers in Illinois (where it has served gas customers for years). Across all of its markets, IGS has about 800,000 customers

Energy Services Providers, Inc. Seeks to Serve Additional Electric Territories in Pa.

Energy Services Providers, Inc. d/b/a Pennsylvania Gas & Electric has applied for an amended Pennsylvania electric generation supplier license to serve all customer classes at Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power, Citizens' Electric Company and Wellsboro Electric Company. As only reported in Matters, Energy Services Providers, Inc. received a license to serve customers in the remaining service areas in Pennsylvania last month.
