AEP Texas Files to Lower Discretionary Service Charges Applicable to REPs

AEP Texas Central Company and AEP Texas North Company have submitted their annual compliance filing to reduce certain Discretionary Service Charges charged to retail electric providers, due to the cost savings from the deployment of advanced meters (PUCT Docket 39594).

The updated tariffs at each distribution company would reduce charges for the following services: Standard Move-In; Priority Move-In; Disconnect for Non-Pay; Reconnect for Non-Pay; Re-Reads; and Out-of-cycle Meter Read for Purpose of a Self-Selected Switch.

The AEP companies proposed an effective date of December 30, 2011 for the reductions.
