Seven Utility Management Consulting Adds Suite of Conservation, Engineering Services

Seven Utility Management Consulting, LLC, has launched a new suite of energy conservation and engineering services to complement its supply procurement services. The new services, available in all of Seven Utility Management Consulting's markets, include comprehensive energy surveys and efficiency analyses on commercial and industrial buildings, equipment, and energy infrastructure, with recommendations and services to optimize energy efficiency and reduce operational energy costs. The additional services are in response to customer requests for efficiency and related services. Services include, but are not limited to: electrical and HVAC equipment inspection, maintenance and upgrades; power factor correction; IDC controls and thermostat upgrades; lighting retrofits; demand response and demand side management programs; cogeneration; and distributed solar and wind.


Hextell, Hennekes Join FirstEnergy Solutions

FirstEnergy Solutions named Julie Hextell senior vice president of Sales and Marketing, succeeding Arthur Yuan, who plans to retire in 2013 following a 13-year career with the company. In addition, David Hennekes was named vice president of Marketing. Hextell was previously senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Constellation NewEnergy. More recently, Hextell was chief operating officer of SoCore Energy, a second-phase solar development company. Hennekes was previously vice president and general manager for the residential division at TXU Energy, and has held management positions at Reliant Energy and LG&E Energy. For the next 18 months, Yuan will be on special assignment assisting with the transition


First Choice Power Tripling Care to Share Donations, Announces Other Heat Relief Efforts

First Choice Power will, through Sept. 1, 2011, triple any customer donations made to its Care to Share program to help low-income and elderly customers who need help paying bills. Specifically, for every dollar a residential customer donates to the Care to Share Fund, First Choice Power will contribute $3, up to $10,000 in total. First Choice Power also announced several additional efforts to help customers pay their bills during the summer heat, some of which are required by rule. Such relief programs include deposit waivers for customers age 62 and older; relaxed payment arrangement and deferred payment plan eligibility and guidelines; use of local First Choice Power offices as community relief centers; and various grants for nonprofits, schools and chambers to reduce usage.
