National Grid Raises Estimate for Cost of Massachusetts POR

August  19, 2011
Email This Story

National Grid has increased its estimate for anticipated administrative costs associated with implementing a Purchase of Receivables program in Massachusetts (10-53).

Specifically, National Grid informed the DPU that total estimated administrative costs associated with implementation of POR are now $287,766. This is slightly higher than the $265,000 estimate initially projected in National Grid's July filing.

Translation of the newly estimated administrative costs into a discount rate percentage was not readily apparent in National Grid's August 15 filing containing final cost information.

National Grid said that it has no change to the previously filed uncollectible discount factors, which were as follows:

Residential: 1.95%

Commercial: 1.19%

Industrial: 0.34%

Details of rate classes included in each POR grouping can be found in our 7/22 story.
