EnergyUSA-TPC Seeks Renewal of Ohio Supplier License

EnergyUSA-TPC applied to renew its Ohio competitive retail gas supplier license, which otherwise expires October 13, notwithstanding that parent NiSource continues to wind down its unregulated energy marketing business as previously reported (5/510). Pattern Energy Group Seeks FERC Disclaimer of Jurisdiction Over Line to Interconnect to ERCOT

Pattern Energy Group LP said that it has reached a settlement with Oncor, CenterPoint Energy, and Garland Power & Light for the interconnection of Pattern's proposed Southern Cross transmission line with ERCOT, and the provision of transmission service into and out of ERCOT from the project, contingent upon a disclaimer of jurisdiction from FERC. The Southern Cross project would be a 3,000 MW line originating in Texas and extending east through the Southeast U.S. The settlement with the Texas transmission owners is contingent on an order from FERC containing a clear disclaimer of jurisdiction by the Commission, ensuring the continued status quo of all transmission providers and entities within ERCOT as generally exempt from FERC regulation.

National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation has agreed to delay the effective date of its New York tariff filing to modify existing rules relating to ESCOs and the management of storage gas injection and withdrawal requirements until October 31, 2011, to allow additional time for PSC Staff review. The tariff changes were previously filed to take effect August 31, and later postponed until September 30. The National Energy Marketers Association has raised several concerns with the proposed changes (see 7/26).
