Another Viridian Subsidiary Seeks Ohio Gas License

Viridian Energy NG LLC applied for an Ohio natural gas supplier license to serve all customer classes at Dominion East Ohio, Columbia Gas, and Vectren Energy Delivery. Affiliate Viridian Energy NJ LLC previously received an Ohio gas supplier license to serve customers in all service areas. Given that new applicant Viridian Energy NG LLC is not seeking to serve customers at Duke Energy Ohio, which primarily overlaps with Cincinnati Bell's territory, the application for an additional license could indicate a desire to separate under a distinct entity gas customers potentially served by Cincinnati Bell Energy (thus far Viridian and Cincinnati Bell's joint electric marketing effort) from other gas customers in Ohio served by Viridian.

Alternative Utility Services Seeks Maine Broker License

Alternative Utility Services, Inc. applied for a Maine electric broker license to serve all customer cases at Central Maine Power and Maine Public Service.

Renewable Resource Ventures Seeks Ohio Broker License

Start-up Renewable Resource Ventures, LLC applied for an Ohio electric broker/aggregator license to serve all customer classes in all service areas. Renewable Resource Ventures is comprised of two Member Companies: SolarVision, LLC (a distributed solar provider) and Enlightened Energy Advisors, LLC (an energy consulting firm). Kimberly Bojko, President of Enlightened Energy Advisors, LLC, will serve as a manager of Renewable Resource Ventures. Bojko was previously the director of economic development and regulatory affairs for the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.

PURA Closes 5Linx Aggregator Application

The Connecticut PURA has closed the docket in which 5Linx Enterprises, Inc. had sought an electric aggregator certificate, after 5Linx indicated that it would act as a marketing agent for suppliers. PURA reiterated that aggregators cannot act as marketing agents, and that marketing agents do not require a PURA license at this time.
