PUCT Staff Propose Assessments on REPs to Fund Internet Broadcasting

PUCT Staff have proposed assessments on various retail electric providers and generators (as well as TDUs and telecomms) to fund the cost of internet broadcasting of PUCT meetings for 2012, as required by statute.

The statute allows the Commission to recover such costs from REPs which serve more than 250,000 customers. Such REPs would be assigned $90,000 as follows:

CPL Retail Energy LP: $5,468

Direct Energy: $7,123

Reliant Energy Retail Company LLC: $30,775

Stream Energy: $7,199

TXU Energy Retail Company LLC: $39,435

Power generation companies owning more than 5,000 MW would be assigned $90,000 as follows:

Luminant Generation Company LLC: $35,285

Calpine Corporation: $16,557

NRG Energy: $26,166

NextEra Energy Resources: $11,992
