Illinois Revises ComEd Price to Compare

The Illinois Commerce Commission has, apparently, revised the Price to Compare for residential non-space heating customers at Commonwealth Edison for the period October 2011 through May 2012. The Price to Compare page on Plug In Illinois, as well as an updated news release, now lists the ComEd Price to Compare as 7.733 cents per kWh. This compares to the originally posted 7.753 cents per kWh which still appears on the Plug In Illinois ComEd offer list.

NRG Greens Bayou Unit 5 Not Needed for RMR Service

After additional analysis, ERCOT has determined that NRG Texas Power LLC Greens Bayou Unit 5 (GBY_GBY_5) is not needed for RMR Service and can proceed to mothball status, effective October 1, 2011. A prior final determination had previously determined that the unit was needed for RMR service to support ERCOT System reliability.

FERC Grants Waiver to Maintain Current CAISO Virtual Bidding Limits at Interties

FERC granted the California ISO's request for a temporary waiver of a tariff requirement, which would have required CAISO to raise the virtual bidding position limits at the interties to 25 percent (from 5 percent), until the Commission acts on CAISO's proposal to permanently suspend convergence bidding at intertie scheduling points, which is currently before the Commission in Docket No. ER11-4580 (see 8/30). The grant of the temporary waiver does not prejudge the outcome of the proceeding in Docket No. ER11-4580.
