Starion Offering Capped Variable Rate at Duquesne Light, Other States "Coming Soon"

Starion Energy has begun offering residential electric service at Duquesne Light.

Starion is offering two products to Duquesne Light Rate RS customers -- a standard monthly variable rate, and a variable rate product with a cap.

Starion's "Starion Smart" product is a monthly variable product starting at 8.39 cents per kWh but which is capped at 9.29 cents per kWh through March 31, 2012.

The "Starion Simple" product is a traditional variable rate, with no cap, currently priced at 7.99 cents per kWh.

Neither product includes an early termination fee.

Identical products and pricing are also available for small commercial service.

Starion's website lists New Jersey and Ohio service as "coming soon."

Starion also offers electric service at PPL and PECO, as well as Connecticut, New York, and Maryland.
