Liberty Power Selected to Supply Philly Buying Power

Liberty Power has been selected as the new electricity supplier of Philly Buying Power, the aggregation program endorsed by the City of Philadelphia and run by Taylor Consulting and Contracting. Liberty Power was awarded a 12-month contract to supply over 400 properties an estimated 47,000 megawatt-hours of power annually, beginning in January of 2012. The supply includes 100% green energy.


CL&P Reports Last Resort Service Supplier

Connecticut Light & Power reported that Hess Corporation has won 100% of CL&P's Last Resort Service supplies for the three-month period beginning January 1, 2012.


FirstEnergy Completes Sale of Peaking Units

FirstEnergy Generation Corp. has closed the sale of its Richland Plant in Defiance, Ohio, and its Stryker Plant in Stryker, Ohio, to Richland-Stryker LLC, an affiliate of privately held Quintana Infrastructure & Development, for an undisclosed amount. Terms were not disclosed. FirstEnergy operated both plants as peaking facilities. The nameplate installed capacity at the Richland Plant is 444 MW, and is 20 MW at the Stryker Plant.


PURA Approves CL&P Procurement

The Connecticut PURA approved Connecticut Light & Power's recent procurement of Standard Service supplies for a portion of 2012 and 2013. PURA directed that retail rates shall be filed by November 17, 2011.
