dPi Energy has launched a "Free Sundays" prepaid electric plan for customers with provisioned advanced meters.

Under this plan, the customer will not incur the product's "energy charge" of 12.9¢/kWh (all service areas) for usage from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on every Sunday. Customers will also not incur the product's "Base Charge" of 45¢ per day on Sunday. However, customers will still incur all TDU fees, taxes, and GRT associated with their Sunday electricity usage.

The prepaid product has an average price of 12.7¢/kWh for 1,000 kWh usage.

The plan is a variable rate product.

Dennis Benevides, President and CEO of TruSmart Energy Holdings, LLC, the parent company of dPi Energy, said, "dPi Energy is committed to strengthening customer relationships and the Free Sundays product allows us to pass along a unique benefit and significant savings to our customers."

"The Company will continue to offer rate plans that are easy to understand and customer friendly. We will focus on time of use rate plans such as Free Sundays and other smart grid enabled technology that benefits the customer," Benevides added.

dPi charges a Payment Transaction Fee of $1.95 each time the customer replenishes their prepaid account.
