Maine PUC Discloses Supplier of Large Customer Standard Offer Load
The Maine PUC disclosed that Algonquin Energy Services Inc. was selected as the Standard Offer provider for the large non-residential classes in the service territories of Central Maine Power Company (CMP) and Bangor Hydro Electric Company (BHE). As only reported by Matters, the PUC has elected to set large customer Standard Offer rates on a monthly basis at CMP and BHE, departing from the typical process which establishes rates for a six-month period.
Energy Plus Holdings Announces Customer, Partner Milestones
Energy Plus Holdings announced today that it has grown its customer base to 185,000, expanded its partner network to 100, and distributed more than 800 million points and miles and nearly $5 million in cash back to customers in 2011 through its unique rewards program. The customer count was recently reported by Matters in connection with NRG Energy's 10-K (where it was described as 188,000). Energy Plus said that it has established relationships with the top seven largest U.S. airlines, six of the seven leading U.S. hotel companies, leading retailers such as Best Buy, and national college savings programs like Upromise by Sallie Mae.
FirstEnergy Solutions Offering Lowest Fixed Rate at ComEd
FirstEnergy Solutions this morning announced that it is offering the lowest price on electric generation for a 24-month term currently available at Commonwealth Edison, at 5.65 cents per kWh with no cancellation fee. The rate was recently noted by Matters as the lowest on Plug-In Illinois. Notable is that in addition to directing customers to Plug-In Illinois for more information on electric choice, a FirstEnergy Solutions news release also encourages customers to visit broker Power2Switch's website for more information.
