Constellation Energy is now selling retail electricity through Best Buy.

Specifically, at a pilot program at Best Buy's Bucktown, Chicago store, customers can shop for a Constellation Energy electricity plan while searching for energy-efficient products.

The Constellation electricity offers are included under a new Best Buy department called Home Energy.

Customers enrolling with Constellation at Best Buy receive a $50 Best Buy Gift Card for signing up for a 24-month service agreement, or a $25 Best Buy Gift Card for a 12-month service agreement.

The Best Buy gift cards are also available to customers enrolling with Constellation online using a BestBuy offer code.

"We’re thrilled with the response from Chicagoland residents who have already taken advantage of one-stop shopping to lower their monthly electric supply rate with Constellation and buy energy-efficient products from experienced Best Buy representatives," said Michael Wajsgras, vice president of new business channel development for Constellation

To date, the pilot is limited to the Bucktown store. Constellation said it would be premature to speculate about expansion of the Best Buy program to other stores in Illinois, or other markets.
