Santanna Energy Services Seeks New License
Santanna Natural Gas Corporation, d/b/a Santanna Energy Services, applied for an Illinois alternative retail electric supplier license to serve all customer classes at ComEd and Ameren. Santanna Energy Services is licensed as an Illinois retail natural gas supplier and electric agent, broker, and consultant, and holds gas and/or electric supplier licenses in several other states. Santanna Energy Services previously applied for an Illinois electric supplier license in May, but withdrew the application without prejudice shortly after filing.
New Name Approved for Reliant Energy Texas Retail, LLC
The PUCT approved an amendment to the Texas REP certificate of Reliant Energy Texas Retail, LLC to reflect a change in its legal name to Everything Energy, LLC. The amendment was first reported by Matters. Reliant Energy Texas Retail, LLC holds REP certificate 10178, and the company is distinct from Reliant Energy Retail Services, LLC (certificate 10007), under which Reliant does most of its Texas business. Everything Energy, LLC also received approval to use the trade name Independence Energy. Independence Energy is, of course, also the name of the network marketing arm of Energy Plus Holdings, which is now owned by Reliant parent NRG Energy. The trade names Reliant Energy C&I Services and Reliant Energy Commercial/Industrial Services were deleted from the Everything Energy, LLC REP certificate.
US Retailers LLC Receives Amended REP Certificate
The PUCT approved an amendment to the REP certificate of Pennywise Power, which is owned by NRG Energy, to reflect a change in its legal name to US Retailers LLC. As previously reported, US Retailers LLC will retain the trade name Pennywise Power.
