Kleantricity, Inc., an affiliate of TrueLight Energy, LLC, a wholesale energy services company, is entering the retail electric market.

According to a public notice, Kleantricity stated that it would be applying for a Pennsylvania electric generation supplier license. The application does not yet appear to be docketed by the PUC, but typically docket numbers are not assigned until the application is acknowledged and deemed either deficient or complete.

Information provided to the United States Patent and Trademark Office describe Kleantricity as a retail electricity provider offering services that allow customers to purchase electricity generated principally from clean or renewable sources.

Kleantricity is a wholly owned subsidiary of TrueLight Retail, Inc., the latter of which is owned by a number of individual shareholders including Gustav Beerel, Michael Constantine, and Paul Oakley. Those three are also principals at wholesaler TrueLight Energy.

Kleantricity recently received market-based rate authority from FERC.
