Aequitas Energy, Inc., Affiliate of Broker Globelé Energy, to Become Retail Supplier

Aequitas Energy, Inc. has applied for market-based rate authority at FERC as part of its establishment of a retail energy supply operation.
Two entities currently share ownership of Aequitas. Elena Cahill owns ninety percent (90%) of Aequitas and Viper Networks, Inc. owns ten percent (10%). In addition to its affiliation with Viper, Aequitas is also affiliated with Globelé Energy, LLC, by virtue of Elena Cahill's common ownership of Aequitas and Globelé.
Viper Networks, Inc. has also contractually committed to acquire thirty percent (30%) of Aequitas, for $1 million. Viper said it has first right of refusal for additional investment opportunities and could potentially increase its ownership in 2013 and beyond.
A Viper Networks news release states that, "Aequitas Energy's highest priority is to complete all licensing requirements and connection testing in an expedient manner, which is estimated to take approximately 4 to 5 months."
Projected retail market entry is December 2012.
Viper said that Aequitas is gearing up for rapid growth in the residential and commercial markets in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and also expects to expand to natural gas in the near future.
Aequitas is also focused on major expansion through the remaining deregulated energy markets in the U.S.
Viper Networks, Inc. provides voice over internet protocol (VoIP) products and services as well as LED lighting products.
Globelé is a broker-consultant offering energy procurement services in addition to auditing and conservation services.
