Affinity-Focused 4Change Energy, a TXU Affiliate, Posts Offers on Website

4Change Energy, Energy Future Holdings' new retail electricity brand focused on charitable affinity programs, has posted offers on its website.

4Change Energy, whose development was first reported by Matters, was formerly TXU SESCO Energy Services Company.

When enrolling with 4Change Energy, customers can select from one four charitable categories to support. Such charitable categories are organizations dedicated to (1) the fight against hunger; (2) cancer prevention and research; (3) disaster relief; (4) preventing and treating terminal illness in children.

4Change Energy will give 4% of its profits to the organizations, to help support the local chapters. 4Change Energy's website explains that, "we combine money across all our customers' activities to determine the overall amount that is donated to the charities."

"Since each customer has selected the cause most important to them, we count up all those 'votes' and divide our contributions accordingly," 4Change's website explains.

Current offers listed on 4Change Energy's website include 6 and 12-month fixed offers. Pricing (average per 1,000 kWh per EFL) is as follows by service area:

Oncor:
6 Months: 8.5¢/kWh
12 Months: 8.6¢/kWh

CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric:
6 Months: 9.8¢/kWh
12 Months: 9.9¢/kWh

AEP Texas Central:
6 Months: 9.8¢/kWh
12 Months: 9.9¢/kWh

AEP Texas North:
6 Months: 8.8¢/kWh
12 Months: 8.9¢/kWh

Texas-New Mexico Power:
6 Months: 9.4¢/kWh
12 Months: 9.5¢/kWh


The pricing above assumes a discount of 0.5¢/kWh for being enrolled in paperless billing and recurring payment plans.

The products include an early cancellation fee of $20 per month remaining on the contract.

Customers can also add 100% renewable energy to each of the products above for an additional $4.95/month.
