Affiliate of Entrust Energy Preparing Retail Market Launch in Northeast

A retail supplier affiliated with Texas retail electric provider Entrust Energy has filed for FERC market-based rate authority as part of its coming entry into the Northeast retail markets.

Specifically, North Eastern States, Inc. said in its FERC market-based rate application that it is, "primarily engaged in the sale of electricity and natural gas to retail customers as a Marketer of energy including electricity and natural gas."

North Eastern States confirmed to Matters that it is a separate company from Entrust Energy but is an affiliate of Entrust Energy, and will be entering the retail energy markets in the Northeast.

In its FERC application, North Eastern States, Inc. listed the governing persons of the Corporation as Phillip W. Tonge and Richard Jonathan Poole.

Tonge will serve as President and CEO of North Eastern States, Inc.

Poole is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Entrust Energy.

Additionally, Amy Gasca was listed as Vice President Market Development for North Eastern States, Inc.
