Entrust Energy Affiliate North Eastern States Seeks License in New State
North Eastern States, Inc. has applied for a Connecticut electric supplier license to serve all customer classes. As first reported by Matters, North Eastern States is an affiliate of Texas retail provider Entrust Energy. North Eastern States said that it has applied for retail supplier licenses in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Illinois, Ohio, and New Jersey. See prior story for more on North Eastern States.
Star Energy Partners Seeks First Retail Supplier License
Star Energy Partners LLC applied for an Ohio electric supplier license to serve residential, commercial, and mercantile customers in all service areas. As first reported by Matters, Star Energy is a start-up owned by Tony Banks and FC Energy LLC. FC Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of First Communications, Inc. FirstEnergy currently owns 27.4% of the common stock of First Communications, and FirstEnergy's current voting interest in Star Energy is approximately 4%.
