Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

Entergy Texas, Inc. has formally applied at the Public Utility Commission of Texas to transfer its transmission assets to a subsidiary of ITC Holdings Corp., under a previously announced transaction (click here).

Notably, this would remove jurisdiction over transmission rates from the PUCT (transmission currently accounted for in ETI base rates) in favor of federal jurisdiction over transmission rates for the former ETI assets, with Texas customers subject to the formula rate tariff on file at FERC, and ETI seeking to pass-through such costs to its retail customers.
