TriEagle Energy, LP, which recently celebrated 10 years of service, has been granted an electric supplier license in a new state.

Specifically, TriEagle Energy has been granted a New Jersey electric supplier license to serve all customer classes in all service territories.

The new license comes as TriEagle Energy marked the 10th anniversary since launching with its first license in Texas.

TriEagle currently serves business and residential customers in Texas and Pennsylvania, with additional markets "opening soon" in 2013.

"It's fun to look back at the days of the three of us in one room with giant sticky notes on the walls, trying to figure out how the heck this Texas deregulated electric market worked," said COO Robert Case. "I still remember our first customer, first bill and, most importantly, the first payment."

"When we started in 2003, there were dozens of REPs in Texas. As far as we know, we are the only one of those still in business with our original management team. We are really proud of that," said CEO Daniel Cook. "TriEagle has seen tremendous growth over the last few years, as we've expanded our products and service areas. As we look to 2013 and beyond, we are thrilled about the additional opportunities the US energy market presents."

Last year, TriEagle and Pacific Summit Energy (Sumitomo) announced a long term supply and credit support agreement.
