Reporting by Karen Abbott • kabbott@energychoicematters.com

TXU Energy saw an improvement in net residential customer churn during the three months ended March 31, 2013, versus the three months ended December 31, 2012, when excluding the impact of inorganic growth in the three months ended December 31, 2012.

Specifically, per an EFH 10-Q, TXU Energy was serving 1.546 million residential meters as of March 31, 2013, versus 1.560 million as of December 31, 2012 and 1.603 million a year ago.

The net churn of 14,000 residential customers since December 31, 2012 compares favorably to the net churn of 19,000 residential customers from September 30, 2012 to December 31, 2012, the latter of which represents net churn when excluding the impact of customers acquired from Mega Energy during the three months ended December 31, 2012.

TXU was serving 176,000 small business meters (< 1 MW) as of March 31, 2013, which is flat versus December 31, 2012, and down from 179,000 a year ago.

TXU was serving 18,000 large business meters as of March 31, 2013, versus 17,000 as of both December 31, 2012, and a year ago.

Total TXU retail customer count was 1.740 million meters as of March 31, 2013, versus 1.753 million as of December 31, 2012, and 1.799 million a year ago.
