Texas retail electric provider Dynowatt is adopting the branding of its parent, with a forthcoming change in its brand to IGS Energy.

Specifically, the final re-branding will take effect on September 3, 2013.

IGS Energy, itself a trade name for Interstate Gas Supply, acquired Dynowatt when it acquired Accent Energy in 2011, with Accent Energy having previously acquired Dynowatt in 2007.

Recently in Texas, the Dynowatt brand had been used for the residential market, while the brand Accent Energy was used for commercial and industrial customers.

As of September 3, 2013, IGS Energy will be the brand for residential, commercial and industrial customers in Texas.

Dynowatt's application to add the trade name IGS Energy to its Texas REP certificate had been first reported by Matters in January

The Accent Energy brand also serves customers in New York and California. IGS Energy told Matters that it anticipates that it will transition the Accent Energy brand to IGS Energy in those markets in 2014.
